Editorial Policy: How Kota Market Writes and Fixes Guides

This policy explains how the guides on Kota Market are written, checked and corrected.

Who writes the guides

Guides are written and maintained by the Kota Market editorial team and are credited to the team on each page.

How we choose topics

We start from the questions buyers, students and makers in Kota actually ask: how to tell if something is genuine, what a mark or label means, what to do when a purchase goes wrong, and how to deal with official procedures. We prefer topics where a careful guide can save a reader money, time or risk, and we avoid topics where we cannot give accurate, checkable help.

Research and sources

  • We focus on practical, checkable information: what to inspect, what to ask, which official mark or tool to use.

  • Where a law, standard, scheme or registration is involved, we link to the official source, such as the GI registry, the Bureau of Indian Standards, Sanchar Saathi, the GST portal or the Udyam portal.

  • Where something is a local tradition or a widely repeated story rather than documented fact, we say so.

  • If we are not sure of a figure, we leave it out or explain how to check it.

  • When we update a guide, we check that its official links still open, and replace or remove links that have moved or stopped working.

  • Phone numbers appear only when they are official public helplines, such as the National Consumer Helpline or the national cyber crime helpline.

Images

We use photos that are licensed for reuse, such as Creative Commons and public domain images, and credit the photographer and licence on the page. We do not use brand logos or product marketing photos, and we avoid images that show identifiable children at work or people in situations they would not expect to be published.

What we do not publish

  • No named shop recommendations in our guides. Shops change, and we will not send readers to businesses we cannot vouch for today.
  • No star ratings or review counts that we cannot back up.
  • No price lists. Prices change; we explain how to compare them instead.
  • No paid placements disguised as editorial. Nobody pays to be mentioned in a guide.

Updates and corrections

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides when rules change and when readers report problems, and we make substantive corrections promptly. To report an error, use the contact page.

Independence

Kota Market is not affiliated with any government department, standards body, registry, trade association, coaching institute or seller. Mentions of official schemes and portals are there to help readers check things for themselves. See our disclaimer for details.
